After entertaining us for decades with Agent 47 and the adventures of Hitman, IO Interactive is back at it again, this time bringing us a brand new adventure starring the most iconic spy of all time, none other than our beloved Bond, James Bond. 007 First Light will launch in just one week, on May 27, 2026, and its latest trailer has literally left us on the edge of our seats, making even the wait of just a few days a difficult task for us. Although, come on, this Bond guy became known for carrying out impossible tasks, right? 😉
The video you will see below shows us an explosive combination of intense action sequences taken directly from its gameplay, along with some cinematics that will develop the story, introducing its characters and treating us to shootouts, chases, and meleé combat in the best style of the legendary Agent 007. And of course, if you are keeping an eye on its launch, by now you have probably already seen the trailer we are talking about, but if that is not the case, here it is, right below these lines, courtesy of IGN:
The Beginnings of James Bond
This adventure will put us in the shoes of a young Bond, and will show us his beginnings in the world of espionage after catching the attention of MI6. After a heroic feat as a Navy pilot, he receives an invitation to join the newly reactivated “00 program,” which, if we think back, means we are talking about agents with a “license to kill.” However, after a mission to stop a rogue agent ends in tragedy, James is forced to team up with his distrustful mentor, Greenway, to expose a massive plot that threatens the complete stability of the nation.
In its exciting missions, which will mix action and stealth in equal parts, we will be transported to incredible locations in different parts of the world, driving several iconic vehicles from the franchise, and often making us feel like we are inside some of the famous spy’s best movies. And as if that were not enough, the arsenal and gadgets we will have at our disposal will be completely up to the task, giving us the freedom to choose the methods that best suit our playstyle on each occasion.
To face the challenges of 007 First Light, we will have to rely on ingenuity, cunning, and skill in equal measure. This title invites us into an unprecedented action adventure, one that could easily overshadow several of the AAA games currently on the market, or even some of those still on the way. Without falling into unnecessary comparisons, we could find distant similarities to several titles, such as GTAV, Uncharted, and others that may come to mind, but the truth is that First Light aims to shine with its own light, and everything indicates that it will do so without any problem.

Okay, 007 First Light will launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series this coming May 27, but those who preorder its Deluxe Edition will be able to enjoy all the content 24 hours before the official launch. Switch 2 users, for their part, will have to wait a little longer, since, although its release has been confirmed for the summer, there is still no official date for it, so, be patient!
