Summer Game Fest 2025 Announcements
After this year’s juicy Sony State of Play, as part of this year’s “Not-E3,” it was now Summer Game Fest’s turn, which in its 2025 edition celebrated a more-than-special gala that gathered over 60 companies, and many highly anticipated games were announced, among which we also got the reveal of the new Resident Evil Requiem! This annual presentation was packed with updates and announcements about both new games and already-known projects, obviously with Geoff Keighley at the helm, and with extremely notable presences like none other than Hideo Kojima!
Industry giants like Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, Capcom, Square Enix, Epic Games, 2K, Bandai Namco, CD Projekt RED and others showed up at this gala that managed to surprise us all, in a positive way I should clarify, as it covered several of the community’s current concerns regarding release dates, or official announcements of some titles that, until now, were only rumours or leaks. So, in that context, here we’ll summarise the most remarkable moments of Summer Game Fest 2025, so pay close attention!::

Summer Game Fest 2025
Mortal Shell II will arrive in 2026 – The sequel to the gore-packed soulslike Mortal Shell (2020), which reminded us a lot of Bloodborne, will hit the market next year, and we already got to see its Announcement Trailer.
Hideo Kojima in person talks about Death Stranding 2: On The Beach – The much-loved and controversial Japanese director took the stage bringing with him a new trailer of the long-awaited sequel to Death Stranding (2019), and announced that in a couple of days a new gameplay focused on Neil, the new and enigmatic character, would be made public.
Chronicles: Medieval announces its early access for 2026 – This sandbox open-world RPG that will delight fans of historical fiction is one of the games being presented publicly for the first time at the Summer Game Fest this year, and will arrive sometime in 2026 as early access for PC.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds shows new gameplay – SEGA delights us with a new gameplay of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, in which, among other things, it confirms its release on 25th September, and announces some unexpected cameos: Joker from Persona 5, Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon, or Hatsune Miku, to name a few. A collaboration with Minecraft was also teased.
Code Vein 2 officially announced – Years after the first entry in this franchise, Bandai Namco has just made fans’ dreams come true with the announcement of this impressive hack ‘n slash. Code Vein 2 will officially arrive on PS5, Xbox Series and PC sometime in 2026.

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros will arrive in 2026 – We’re talking about a real-time strategy game being announced for the first time at this event, also showing its first trailer, and it will arrive next year on PC via Steam.
Atomic Heart will have a sequel – Through a spectacular trailer Atomic Heart II was announced, sequel to the acclaimed first-person action game set in a retrofuturistic dystopian universe where we faced machines and deadly automatons. This sequel doesn’t have a planned date yet, but it has been confirmed for both PC and consoles. As if that weren’t enough, Mundfish also announced the project The Cube: Atomic Universe, a multiplayer set in the same universe.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword shows new gameplay – Perhaps one of the most anticipated appearances of the event was Capcom, which decided to make its entrance with a new gameplay of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the new title of the iconic franchise that will arrive in 2026.
Square Enix announces Killer Inn – The new game from Square Enix is presented as a multiplayer that combines murder mystery with third-person action, and presents its first official trailer.
ARC Raiders confirms its release date with new trailer – It’s considered one of the most promising multiplayer titles right now: this is ARC Raiders and it debuts at this year’s Summer Game Fest with a new trailer and confirmation of its official release date, which will be next 30th October. Personally I feel a bit disappointed, as I preferred the aesthetic and gameplay from its original proposal, but to each their own. No doubt many will be happy to know there’s so little time left until this new version of ARC Raiders.

Out of Words, co-op platformer will arrive in 2026 – Without a doubt an original proposal that reminds us a bit of the mythical The Neverhood: Out of Words is a co-op platformer whose graphic style is based on hand-drawn designs and animated with stop motion. It will launch next year for PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
Mafia: The Old Country will launch on 8th August – 2K Games and Hangar 13 show up to reveal the new trailer of Mafia: The Old Country, the new third-person action game in the franchise, which will take players to Sicily at the beginning of the 20th century to witness the origins of the famous criminal organisation.
LEGO and Annapurna Interactive announce LEGO Voyagers – This is a new co-op video game for two players and you’ll be able to play it in co-op with just one copy. In this game each player will control a small LEGO piece and together they’ll have to solve puzzles and unexpected situations. It will launch soon for PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch.
The Lies of P DLC Overture is available right now! – Until now there had only been rumours and comments about the release of this content, but now it has been confirmed by surprise: Overture has just launched, and it’s available on all platforms where the base game is present, delighting fans of this popular title.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin shows new trailer – Nermarble has shown a new trailer to announce that it’s now possible to register for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origins on PS5 and PC, although no official release date has been announced yet.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 announces its release date and shows its first trailer – Now with its official release date confirmed for 21st October of this year, Jurassic World Evolution 3 will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and it shows us its first trailer.

Deadpool VR will arrive at the end of 2025 – Ideal for fans of this popular Marvel character, in this first-person VR game players will get to be him, experiencing all sorts of fun and questionable situations. It will be available for Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.
Dying Light: The Beast announces its release date – This spin-off of the Dying Light saga is a new, more focused and narrative-driven game, with a darker and more visceral aesthetic, and it will arrive on August 22nd on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
New trailer of Mindseye before its launch, and collaboration with Hitman – There’s very little time left until the new game from the creator of GTA is officially released: Mindseye will arrive on June 10th on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and at this event they show us its new Launch Trailer, and announce that Agent 47 from Hitman will have a special collaboration in this project, although it hasn’t yet been specified what it will be about.
Mads Mikkelsen surprises on stage – Because of the collaboration with Hitman, Mads Mikkelsen appears on stage due to the recent announcement of 007 First Light, the new James Bond game being developed by IO Interactive, and brings back his character Le Chiffre from Casino Royale, for his collaboration with Hitman: World of Assassination. This new mission is available starting today!
Terrifying game ILL shows its new gameplay – This eerie and grotesque horror game with ultra-realistic graphics will arrive soon on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and although it doesn’t yet have a defined release date, it now shows us its new gameplay.
RE9 becomes Resident Evil Requiem and announces its release date! – The cherry on top, and the highlight of any Summer Game Fest 2025 recap is without a doubt Capcom’s announcement about the new Resident Evil saga game. This ninth entry in the franchise, now named Resident Evil Requiem, already has an official release date: it will hit the market on 27th February 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and it left us with a juicy Reveal Trailer of more than three and a half minutes!
