PS Plus May 2025: New Games Revealed

PlayStation has revealed the monthly games that will be available in May 2025 for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Whether you are an Essential PS Plus user, or part of the Extra or Premium Tier, you will have access to the three titles we will tell you about below starting this coming May 6th. Of course they won’t always be AAA, but among the catalog they release every month, we have found some real gems, or in other words, can’t-miss titles.

We remind you that the games corresponding to the month of April are available right now and can be claimed until next Monday, May 5th inclusive. You can always check our article PS Plus March 2025: New Games Revealed to know which titles they are and get a full description of them. Alright, here’s what we came for, these are the free games you’ll be able to claim from May 6th to June 2nd inclusive:

PS Plus Essential: May 2025 Games

ARK: Survival Ascended

The already classic multiplayer survival ARK: Survival Evolved returns with the full power of UE5, and it’s been on PS5 for a couple of years now. This remastering of Studio Wildcard’s game includes all the content from the original game, plus tons of extra content: Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Ark Genesis Part 1 and Ark Genesis Part 2.

In this complete remaster we can join multiplayer sessions of up to 70 simultaneous players, or even local split-screen co-op, or private sessions of up to 8 people, in a world in which we can form our own tribe, fortify our shelter, upgrade our weapons, and best of all: we can ride dinosaurs! Wasn’t that the reason we all played it in the first place? I could swear it was XD

Balatro

Regardless of the genres you like or don’t like, without a doubt you know or have heard of Balatro. Obviously we’re talking about the original and surprising poker-based deckbuilding roguelike, which has been catalogued as one of the best games of 2024, and has been nominated for multiple awards like Game of the Year. Well now you’ll be able to make the most out of your card addiction on your PS5 or PS4. Its developer, the studio LocalThunk, has kept the original poker rules, but added several very interesting changes.

Create the best deck possible, form poker hands and earn the highest number of chips you can to beat each of its levels. Everything in Balatro works: from its original and simple concept, to its addictive music; this game promises to hook you and not let go for many hours, regardless of whether you’ve tried it before or not, and now you know, you’ll be able to claim it for free with your PS Plus subscription starting next May 6th.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun

We are facing one of the most iconic shooters from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, as well as from the PS5 and PS4 catalog. If you liked Space Marine 2, you’ll surely enjoy Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, a frantic FPS clearly inspired by 90s classics like DOOM and Quake, which offers a retro pixel-art experience that also includes the best features from modern games.

We step into the boots of a Space Marine and we have to annihilate hordes of 2D Chaos Demons across countless old-school rendered 3D levels, with a variety of classic saga weapons, and others unique to this addictive title. The mobility of this half-ton titan will leave you speechless, but watch out for inertia! You’re moving a battle tank on two legs, but make sure you master the brakes! XD
