Here at MLG, weâre well aware that you, gamer, love free games just as much as we do. Who doesnât love adding a fresh title to the library without hurting the wallet? Donât answer, that was rhetorical XD. Thatâs why we got to work and handpicked a list of the newest free-to-play games that have either just landed or are about to drop on Steam this month.
In this list youâll find five titles that you definitely shouldnât let slip by. Three of them are already available to download (and to play right now if youâve got nothing better going on, ahem), while the other two go live in just a few days. And donât worry, weâve added the trailers up above for you to check out, and at the bottom of the article youâll find direct links to their Steam pages in case any of them catches your eye.
đĄď¸ Steel Hunters
- Genre: PvPvE Mech Shooter
- Developer: Vaki Games
- Release Date: April 2, 2025 (Early Access)
If youâve ever dreamed of piloting a giant mech and going all-in with missiles on a battlefield that crumbles around you, Steel Hunters is about to become your new obsession. This third-person shooter blends the best of PvP and PvE in two-player squad battles. You can choose from seven different mechs, each with its own style, abilities and design, and head into massive maps where every tactical move matters.
The pacing is intense, the environments react to the chaos, and if you manage to survive and extract successfully, youâll feel like you earned way more than just a win. Itâs free, itâs in early access, and it has that kind of blow-up-big-time vibe. So yeah, if plasma cannons and tag-team strategy are your thing, this oneâs a gem ready for you.
đŤ Ultranatural
- Genre: PvP Arena Shooter
- Developer: Stray Basilisk Games
- Release Date: April 2, 2025
If youâre into fast-paced, no-nonsense combat, Ultranaturalâs got your back. This high-speed shooter puts your aim, reflexes and control to the test. No distractions, just you, your weapons and other players equally thirsty for frags. Ah, and yes, it also supports LAN play, in case youâre feeling nostalgic about those classic house tournaments we all loved.
What we liked the most here at MLG is how pure the whole thing feels. This game doesnât try to reinvent the wheel, but it definitely polishes it until it shines. If you want instant action without complications, this is the kind of game where you can unwind for a few minutes (or lose hours without even noticing).
đ§ Veil of Sanity
- Genre: Action Adventure with Psychological Horror
- Developer: Void Spire Interactive
- Release Date: April 1, 2025
We know that not every free game needs to go the guns-blazing, adrenaline-pumping route. Veil of Sanity dives headfirst into psychological horror, and it does so with a seriously eerie vibe. You play as a character trapped inside an abandoned carnival, where flickering lights and distorted sounds make you question your sanity. And when we say nothing is what it seems, we mean it.
What makes it interesting is how it blends exploration, storytelling and light combat to immerse you in a tense experience from start to finish. This is one of those games that, if you play with headphones on and the lights off, could actually give you a real scare. Free, weird and surprisingly well made. Need more reasons to give it a try?
đ§ Darkest Days
- Genre: Open World Survival RPG (Zombies)
- Developer: West End Studios
- Release Date: April 23, 2025
Get ready for a good dose of pure survival. In Darkest Days, the world went to hell overnight and you, as always, are stuck in the middle of the disaster. A zombie plague has wiped everything out, and now itâs up to you to explore, gather resources, build your shelter and avoid becoming someoneâs dinner. It all takes place in an open world that, according to the devs, will be packed with dynamic events and decisions that actually shape your path.
The atmosphere is grim, the combat has weight, and the multiplayer side could make this a solid hub for folks who miss the golden days of DayZ or State of Decay. The launch is just around the corner, so if this kind of experience sounds like your thing, take note. Just head down to the bottom of the article and check out its Steam page so youâre ready the moment it goes live.
đŽ MASTERMIND
- Genre: First-Person Roguelite Shooter
- Developer: Quantum Forge
- Release Date: April 23, 2025
Imagine a twisted mix of Doom, Dead Cells and a deadly game show. Thatâs more or less what MASTERMIND is aiming for. In this roguelite FPS, you play as a contestant in a brutal show where each level is procedurally generated and death is just part of the entertainment. You pick up weapons, upgrades, gear… but also face increasingly brutal obstacles. The interesting part is that the game wants you to die, and still dares you to keep coming back.
It has that addictive just one more run vibe, with a bold visual style and a design that mixes satire and full-on carnage in equal measure. Weâve already got our eye on it, and if youâre into that kind of roguelite challenge, keep it on your radar. As you saw up above, the trailer really lays it all out better than we could.
SoâŚ
There you have it. Five brand-new titles, all free, with a little something for every kind of gamer. If any of them caught your attention, scroll down to the bottom of the article where weâve got all the links so you can add them straight to your library. We here at MLG are already downloading a few ourselves, so… which one are you jumping into first? Obviously, we hope youâll tell us! You know gamer, weâll be reading you! đ
