Baptiste – A Cursed Doll That Will Come Soon
The studios Digital Dreams and Firenut Games will soon announce the release of their new game Baptiste, a first-person survival horror focused on a very high level of immersion. This title aims to blur the line that separates games from reality, while telling us the story of a son and his mother, recently struck by a family tragedy, who will try to rebuild their lives.
Baptiste, which personally reminds me a lot of the aesthetic of the 2007 film Dead Silence, for obvious reasons that you will notice as soon as you google that title, will confront us with a deadly curse surrounding a creepy doll, which is precisely what gives the game its name. High quality scares, a very suffocating first-person perspective, and constantly distorted vision that promises to make us look over our shoulder in real life. If you want to understand what I mean, take a look at the Official Trailer we leave for you below, shared from GameTrailers on YouTube:
The Most Disturbing Doll You Have Seen in a Game in Recent Years
Devastated by a family tragedy, Sara and her son Tom seek a new beginning at Jagged Shore Cliff, a remote cliff in the United Kingdom. However, what awaits them there goes far beyond their worst fears. In their new and mysterious residence, a dusty display case houses Baptiste, an unsettling doll accompanied by an ominous warning: “Never release him from his glass prison”. What was meant to be a refuge becomes the setting of a nightmare that defies all logic, testing the limits of their sanity and their will to survive.

Digital Dreams is aiming for total immersion, plunging the player into a first-person experience that seeks to make them feel every chill as if it were real. In the skin of Tom, who has recently lost his father, we will have to accompany his mother Sara to what should be a new beginning. However, the ghosts of the past threaten to consume him, wrapping the boy in a suffocating atmosphere in which the horror can be felt lurking in every shadow.
As if all this were not enough, the mansion itself hides macabre secrets stained by ancient blood and painful memories. Within it, beauty and horror coexist in a constant lethal dance, represented by a disturbing yet beautiful visual design, where the grotesque becomes fascinating. In this story, the deep narrative thread constantly draws our attention to chilling details, unveiling even more mysteries that will keep the player on edge until the very end.

So…
A first-person horror story that features a doll very similar to those used by ventriloquists… Honestly, it does not need to add many more elements for me to like it, it already has me hooked! Baptiste does not have an official release date yet, although we can expect news about it very soon. In the meantime, you should absolutely swing by its Steam page and add it to your Wishlist right away, and while you are there, you can download and try its free demo right now!
