So without further delay, why don’t we move on to the list?

PS Plus Essential: September 2025 Games
Psychonauts 2 (PS4)
Psychonauts 2 continues the story of Razputin, a young psychic who finally manages to join the organization of special agents known as the Psychonauts. The game takes place in a universe full of imagination, where each level represents the mind of a character and presents different challenges. The scenarios constantly change, mixing humor, extravagance, and deep themes such as anxiety, addictions, or personal traumas, always with a vibrant and surreal artistic style.
The gameplay combines three-dimensional platforming with dynamic combat and psychic powers that allow you to manipulate the environment and defeat enemies in creative ways. Each new ability unlocks ways to explore and solve puzzles, which keeps the pace fresh and unpredictable. Beyond its gameplay, the title stands out for the warmth of its characters and for how it manages to address serious topics in an accessible and entertaining way.
Stardew Valley (PS4)
Stardew Valley puts the player in the role of someone who inherits their grandfather’s farm and decides to begin a new life in a quiet town. From there, the experience revolves around taking care of crops, raising animals, fishing, mining, and interacting with a community full of endearing characters. The freedom is total: you can focus on improving your farm, building relationships with the neighbors, or exploring caves filled with creatures and minerals.
Its charm lies in the fact that its mechanics are both relaxing and addictive, with day cycles and seasons that change the way you play. It also allows you to build friendships, get married, and start a family, which adds a personal dimension to the farming simulation. With a retro graphic style and an immersive soundtrack, it has become a reference point in the indie genre thanks to the immense amount of content and the possibility of playing over and over again without the experience ever feeling repetitive.
Over time, Stardew Valley transcended as a cultural phenomenon within the gamer community. It has sold millions of copies worldwide and continues to have an active player base, largely thanks to its constant updates and PC mod support. It is considered one of the most influential indie titles of the last decade and an example of how a project created by a single person can turn into a modern classic.
Viewfinder (PS5)
Viewfinder is a first-person puzzle game that stands out for its original mechanic of altering the world using photographs. The player can take an image and project it into the environment, which instantly transforms the setting into new structures that serve to move forward. This premise turns each level into a creative laboratory, where perception and logic are tested in surprising ways.
The story unfolds inside a simulation designed to restore life in a devastated world. As you explore minimalist and colorful landscapes, you meet virtual characters and gradually discover what went wrong with the project. The combination of clever puzzles, a striking visual style, and a narrative full of sensitivity turns Viewfinder into a short but very memorable experience, with moments that invite both reflection and wonder with each discovery.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I personally remember being trapped for hours in a series of very clever puzzles that depended on perspective and on the distance from which different images were perceived. Simply sublime!
