Dead Reset: Interactive Horror Coming in Sept

Next September, Wales Interactive will release Dead Reset, a cinematic adventure with live actors, as they usually do, in this case a suffocating interactive horror story in which we’ll be trapped in a time loop, and death will be inevitable, although every time it reaches us, we’ll get closer to the truth. Its concept is simply fantastic, and this kind of interactive cinematics always add a lot to the immersion, at least from my point of view. Dead Reset will be available for PS5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.

Wales Interactive has quite a bit of experience with this kind of proposal, as they’ve shown in the past, even exploring several genres besides horror, like action, mystery, dating and more. Titles like I Saw Black Clouds (2021), Bloodshore (2021), Night Book (2021) or Five Dates (2020) come to mind, although those who aren’t fans of this type of live-action adventures might remember Wales Interactive for their Maid of Sker (2020), the first-person horror and survival game that was highly praised by critics and the gaming community. Now, with Dead Reset just around the corner, here you can see its Official Reveal Trailer, courtesy of GameTrailers:

Suffocating Live-Action Horror at the Bottom of the Ocean

Surgeon Cole Manson is kidnapped and taken to an underwater facility, where he’s forced to operate on a patient to extract a rapidly evolving parasite. Manson doesn’t take long to discover that his own death is imminent and unavoidable, although to his surprise, that won’t be the end of his story. Cole Manson finds himself trapped in a time loop in which each death brings him closer to the truth behind these horrific events, as he discovers he can change things to get different outcomes.

Dead Reset invites us into a visceral and bloody adventure that will strongly remind us of classic horror films, like Alien (1979), just to mention an obvious reference. This masterfully acted interactive experience is full of cinematic scares and blood everywhere. It includes very well-used practical effects, and high-risk choice-based gameplay that puts us at the center of a relentless sci-fi horror movie!

Through our choices we build trust or destroy alliances, strengthening or weakening bonds that could be extremely useful or simply wipe us out. Everything is fair in our struggle for survival, since with each decision we put nothing less than our own life on the line, or Cole’s, to be precise. The in-game tracker will help us check our relationship with other characters, and whether they’re still alive.

The choices Cole makes along the way are ours, so we’re the ones responsible for guiding him down the path of redemption or condemnation. No decision is easy, and most of the time it means the difference between life and death. And of course, as would be expected in these types of choice-based games, there’s more than one possible ending to reach, in fact the game features four radically different alternate endings, which without a doubt ensures extremely high replayability.

So…

Dead Reset aims to captivate not only horror game fans, but also lovers of old-school horror cinema. Even if you’re not into games of this genre, Dead Reset is an interactive movie/adventure you definitely won’t want to miss! Its release is scheduled for September, although no exact date has been confirmed yet. However, you can go to its Steam page and add it to your Wishlist right now! And of course, you can also scroll down and tell us what you thought of this proposal, or which other Wales Interactive titles you’ve played! You know gamer, we’ll be reading you! 🙂
