The developer Storm in a Teacup, known for their Close to the Sun from 2020, will launch on April 10 the impressive action, science fiction, and stealth game Steel Seed, which will be available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam, where, by the way, you can already download its free demo! This title stands out for its parkour opportunities and extensive mobility within a vast semi-open environment, presents a future where humanity is on the brink of extinction, and we will have to do the impossible to preserve it.
Zoe, our protagonist, accompanied by her loyal drone KOBY, will rise above every obstacle in her way, sometimes even having to make difficult decisions or take far greater risks beyond safe or sensible limits, to uncover the truth or secure salvation, not just for themselves, but for the entire human race. Now, we invite you to watch Steel Seed’s Official Release Date Trailer, courtesy of IGN:
What It Takes to Save the World from Extinction
After a catastrophic event made Earth uninhabitable, machines took control of the remaining human survivors. We will move through underground facilities that were built by and for machines, and each new region will introduce unique narrative elements, as well as dangers and secrets waiting to be discovered. Towering industrial landscapes, unsettling biodomes, and much more, the world of Steel Seed will be presented to us in an immersive and overwhelming way, filled with dynamic combat and formidable enemies, unfolding a captivating narrative that will determine the very fate of humanity.
As we have said before, Zoe will not be alone on this journey. KOBY, a prototype drone designed to assist her, will be her one and only ally. At first, it will function as little more than a tool, but over time, it will become a key factor in solving puzzles through environmental interactions, providing guidance, and helping our protagonist navigate intricate environments. Additionally, being her only companion, despite communicating solely through beeps and visual signals, it will become Zoe’s emotional anchor as she traverses the desolate world. The synergy that will develop between them will make them a formidable duo, bringing something new to every encounter or obstacle.

Stealth, Parkour, and Dynamic Combat
Steel Seed will allow us to adapt our playstyle through a unique combination of stealth and action, a mix that we have certainly seen before, but here it seems to work wonderfully. More than once, we will have to choose between one approach or the other to face a specific situation. The stealth system will let us use shadows, distractions, and the environment itself to evade or eliminate our enemies, while during dynamic combat we will face different enemy types and challenging bosses, jumping straight into action and deploying unique abilities that we will be able to enhance by choosing from three skill trees and over 40 different upgrades.
Steel Seed is not just about surviving, but about exploring the thin line between human and machine, trust and control, resilience and despair. Revised and edited by BAFTA-winning writer Martin Korda, it combines the evolution of an intriguing main character with a deep and immersive narrative.
Steel Seed on Steam
As we have said before, you can now download the free demo of Steel Seed from its Steam page, which, as usual, you will find at the bottom of this article. There, you will also be able to check its technical requirements to see in advance if your system will be able to run it or not. In any case, the wait for the full game won’t be too long, since in less than a month it will be available on the market! In the meantime, why not drop by the comments and let us know what you think of this proposal? You know, gamer, we’ll be reading you! 😉
