Replaced – Release Confirmed For March 12!
During the last few years, we have all seen announcement after announcement for projects that, after some time, have turned into something like an urban legend in the video game world. Even more so when it comes to indie titles, since these usually have smaller budgets and teams made up of far fewer people than AAA games, or even in some cases, they are developed by a single person. Well, the title we bring here today is one of those cases, but unlike many others, it already has a confirmed release date.
We are talking about REPLACED, a 2.5D side scrolling action title with a charming pixel art visual style, created by indie developer Sad Cat Studios, and which will be published by Thunderful Publishing (SteamWorld Saga, 2013 to 2024, The Gunk, 2022, Planet of Lana, 2023, and God Breakers, 2025, among many others). The official release date will be next March 12, 2026, and it will present a retro futuristic single player adventure in which, as an AI, we will find ourselves trapped in a human body. This is what the Official Release Date Trailer for REPLACED looks like, shared by GameTrailers on YouTube:
A Pixelated Retro Futuristic Dystopian Future
Perhaps you don’t remember, but we already talked about this title here at MLG, and you can actually read the full article by clicking HERE. REPLACED introduces itself as a retro futuristic sci fi 2.5D action platformer set in an alternate 1980s United States, in which we experience fluid combat and a deep and original story, to say the least. In it we take the role of R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its own will, struggling to adapt to human life in a corrupt Phoenix City filled with outlaws and criminals.

Past nuclear cataclysms have left society in a deplorable state, and it shows no signs of improving. Everything is ruled by corruption and greed, and those at the top of that chain see humans and their organs as nothing more than a simple currency. REPLACED aims to raise very human themes, such as identity and the morality of our actions, giving us as context an artistically sublime scenario in retro futuristic pixel art style, enhanced by modern visual effects and a masterfully synthesized soundtrack.
Its developers have expressed the following message:
“It is great to finally have a release date for REPLACED. It has taken us longer to get here than we thought, and we want to thank everyone for their patience and support.”

So…
Okay, let’s remember that REPLACED is a retro futuristic sci fi single player action adventure presented in pixel art style and side scrolling 2.5D, showing an impressive fluidity and visual display that effortlessly reminds us of the first version of the 1982 film Blade Runner. Its officially confirmed release date, and the reason for this article, will be March 12, 2026, and it will be available for Xbox Series and for PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.
