The 9th Charnel, a first person psychological survival horror packed with intense and terrifying mysteries, will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series and PC this January 30. The 9th Charnel will be the first game from indie developer Saikat Deb, created entirely on his own, and published by SOEDESCO, known for titles from varied genres such as Adam’s Venture Chronicles (2015), Dollhouse (2019), Truck Driver (2021) and Albatroz (2024).
This title will combine action, stealth, puzzles, exploration and horror, along with a gripping story whose narrative will unfold from the perspectives of several characters trapped in a strange world of dangerous ideologies. Its developer has expressed having taken inspiration from several classic horror titles, which is why the final product will combine certain elements from those games, with weapon based combat and action in the right measure. A Story Full of Horror and Multiple Paths
Michael and his colleagues, Sara Whitlock and Daniel J. Hart, are geneticists from the Epsilon Research Institute. As part of one of their research projects they decide to investigate the wildlife sanctuary near the institute, without imagining that on their trip they would encounter an inconceivable incident. As a result the car veers off the road into a deep valley where it ends up trapped and alone. Michael must find his friends and survive multiple dangerous and supernatural events that make them think that this place has a long history of evil activities.
In The 9th Charnel we will find an immersive and captivating story presented through highly realistic visuals and an atmospheric soundtrack. This title, which aims to be an unforgettable experience for fans of the horror genre, will guide us through a deep and layered plot shown from the perspective of six different characters, all of them well developed and with their own stories and motivations. The game will provide a rich narrative experience that aims to keep us interested from beginning to end, and at all times on the edge of our seats.
The danger will steadily increase, so we will be forced to deal with the strange threats either by fighting or by evading them through stealth. Along with this we will find puzzles and ever more complex challenges that will test our survival skills and our ability to think quickly. The game will constantly take advantage of our own anxieties, pushing us to the limit if we really want to reach the end alive and discover the conclusions of all of the characters’ stories.
