This is the first game from SK Studios, planned for release next year, but which already has a free demo on Steam, and whose look screams “Try me!” all over. Shadow Project is a narrative-focused, horror FPS that takes place during the fall of the Soviet Union. The game invites us to dive into a world of brutal historical fiction, in which the events that occurred at the end of the 20th century have taken an extremely sinister turn.
We could almost say that Shadow Project has what any good FPS made in UE5 usually has, but without a doubt what makes it special or different is precisely the other thing, its personal touch, its unique look and atmosphere. Its realistic graphics and story are captivating from the very first moment, but don’t just take our word for it, instead you can check it out yourself in the Official Gameplay Demo Launch Trailer, brought to you by GameTrailers:
The Nuremberg Code is Dead
For several months, very worrying rumors have circulated about large-scale, completely unethical human experiments in the USSR, but they have recently been confirmed by a Soviet defector who exposed the terrible truth of the Shadow Project. The Soviet Union has established facilities across its territory with the purpose of turning humans and animals into terrifying war machines.
The year is 1990. In this story, we are part of a U.S. team tasked with dismantling a series of Soviet military facilities suspected of housing Shadow Project laboratories. Our journey takes us through various biomes of the former Soviet Union, including dense and lush forests, desolate abandoned villages, and snowy mountains.

The atmosphere feels highly immersive, with realistic graphics that effortlessly transport us to the Soviet Union in the late 20th century. Shadow Project provides us with an arsenal of historically accurate weapons in a variety of demanding combat scenarios that, in addition to open environments, will include many terrifying underground paths. Resources and ammunition are limited, which forces us to strategically manage every bullet we use. And as much as all this may sound a bit overwhelming, don’t worry gamer, the gameplay experience is highly customizable, so each of us can enjoy this adventure at our own pace.

So…
Okay, Shadow Project still doesn’t have a set release date or window, but it’s expected to arrive sometime in 2026. In any case, obviously neither you nor we want to wait that long, so we can visit right now its Steam page and download its free demo, as well as add it to our Wishlist. Needless to say, you’ll find the corresponding link right below, right? Once you’ve done that, it’d be great if you dropped by the comments and told us what you thought of this captivating proposal from SK Studios! You know gamer, we’ll be reading you! 😉
