Independent developer ELYZIO together with Falan will soon announce the release of Pera Coda, a new isometric narrative adventure of mystery and psychological drama about a man who is trapped between life and death. With a captivating art style that in many ways reminds us of the beloved classic Point-n-Click games, this graphic adventure promises a lot.
Pera Coda blends retro-noir aesthetics with a touch of surrealism: every environment is designed to evoke emotions, with the isometric view specially chosen and crafted to highlight the visual narrative and not to miss even the smallest detail in an Istanbul that, according to its developers, “you don’t just explore, you interpret.” You can see for yourself the Official Announcement Trailer of Pera Coda, courtesy of IGN:
An Emotional and Deep Graphic Adventure
The story of this game will take us to a surreal and profound version of Istanbul, where Deniz, our protagonist, will find himself trapped between life and death. To break free, he’ll have to confront his memories, regrets, and the relationships that shaped him. This vision of Turkey’s most populated city has been reimagined to provide vivid and tangible details to an intense storyline, in which a story with multiple branches will unfold. A true journey that will explore guilt, healing, and self-discovery.
This cycle in which our protagonist is trapped will represent his own purgatory: unable to live or die, forced to confront memories, regrets, and the emotional weight of the people who passed through his life, Deniz will have to undergo emotional transformation through each different instance of his intense cycle. Through it, we’ll explore a rich and moving story via dialogues and puzzles with multiple layers of complexity. Each of these obstacles will also function as an emotional trigger that will shape Deniz’s understanding of himself.
The setting chosen to tell this story, Istanbul, will feature real locations that, while reimagined for the game, will be full of local nuance and a tangible emotional texture not often seen in video games. The city itself will be a mirror, the horizon line where East meets West, and chaos confronts calm. In this highly rich environment, each different district will reflect a fragment of a story.
From neon-flooded alleys to evocative dreamlike landscapes: Pera Coda will masterfully blend retro-noir aesthetics with modern surrealism. More than just an adventure, this title will invite us to explore ourselves.
