Hell Is Us: Limited Time Free Demo on Steam!
Hell is Us, one of the most anticipated games of 2025 will launch on September 4 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Developed by Rogue Factor, and published by Nacon, this action-adventure title inspired by major modern icons like Death Stranding and Dark Souls already has a completely FREE DEMO that has been available to download since yesterday, June 2, and it will remain available until June 16! If you don’t want to wait until September, and you want to see firsthand why there’s so much hype around Hell is Us, you just have to scroll to the bottom of this article and follow the link to its Steam page!
One of the main features of Hell is Us is its total lack of map assistance, which means it’s going to be a tough exploration adventure, something many of us will no doubt welcome with open arms. In this demo, which for now we can only try on PC, we have at our disposal the entire first chapter of the game, which has an estimated duration of about an hour and a half, although depending on how each player approaches the exploration of the available map, that duration might be extended, as several of the game’s secrets are uncovered along the way.
What’s Hell is Us About?
Hell is Us is a third-person action-adventure in which we control Rémi, a former UN soldier in search of his parents, and it’s set in a country devastated by a civil war and a mysterious calamity that has led to the appearance of supernatural creatures. In this desolate land, we must uncover the secrets of the past while fighting enemies that no modern weapon can defeat, using instead an ancient sword and a drone as our main tools. Also, this game stands out for its focus on exploration without conventional aids: there are no maps, compasses, or mission markers. Instead of guiding the player, it invites them to rely on their own instincts, observation, and reasoning to make progress. This mechanic, called Player-Plattering, allows every discovery to be the result of the player’s own effort, providing a unique sense of achievement.
In the world of Hell is Us, combat against supernatural creatures is intense and challenging, and requires the use of weapons forged specifically to defeat them. Also, the drone plays a crucial role in strategy and survival throughout the adventure. The game’s central theme is human violence and how emotions and passions fuel a perpetual cycle of conflict, with a narrative that tackles deep topics like civil war, violence, and family relationships, delivering a mature and thoughtful experience, one that could easily remind us of some of its sources of inspiration, isn’t it?
