The indie studio Blue Scarab Entertainment will soon announce the release of its new game Equinox: Homecoming, an unusual adventure that begins as a peaceful visit to the island of Alderwood. Eventually, what began as a relaxing trip with your friends turns into a journey of mystery and dark discoveries, in which you must uncover the truth behind your mother’s disappearance, and the sudden death of a local resident, which is the beginning of a chain of unusual events that will undoubtedly force you to make the most of your detective skills.
Equinox: Homecoming proposes a return to our birthplace, a peaceful island with paradisiacal and relaxing landscapes, where we will enjoy semi-open world environments, with the freedom to ride our horse and travel long distances. The sunsets are unique and everything seems perfect, relaxing, and cozy… “Seems…”… Equinox: Homecoming doesn’t take long to become a gripping mystery adventure, in which, besides nothing less than the disappearance of our own mother, we find ourselves caught in the middle of an investigation related to the discovery of a teenage girl who was found dead on the island…
An Adventure That Manages to Surprise
The tension on the island of Alderwood has grown uncontrollably. You have decided to come back, enjoy horseback rides on the beach and through the forest, and relax, but before you even realize it, you find yourself investigating the disappearance of your own mother! And as if that weren’t enough, you see yourself involved in a police investigation, due to the appearance of the body of a dead girl in the area. Each clue leads to another, even more intriguing and at the same time wonderful, but as expected, you simply can’t stop following the trail.
Behind the chilling events in Alderwood hides a conspiracy whose implications you could never imagine. Obviously, not everything is what it seems, but fortunately you are not alone in this adventure. You will relive old friendships and meet new allies who will help you unravel the island’s mysteries, while you continue the relentless search to find your mother.
Beauty Lies in the Contrast
Personally, I think one of the things Equinox: Homecoming does well is emphasizing the contrast between, on one hand, the island’s innate beauty, its idyllic sunsets and unmatched landscapes that exhale peace and tranquility, and on the other hand, the mysteries and death that start happening little by little during our adventure, giving way to moments of tension and fear. Simply an effective mix that takes the player by the hand through an engaging narrative, with which it’s easy to empathize from the beginning.
And as if those factors weren’t enough of a draw, there will be other mechanics we must keep in mind, like, for example, training and taking care of our horse, who will be with us unconditionally even in the most unexpected situations. Your relationship with him will be key to your safety and survival during your exploration of the island. And if that still isn’t enough for you, you will be able to join group horse races, and even organize scenic excursions, because, even though there are mysteries to uncover on the island, it’s still a BEAUTIFUL place.

The release date for Equinox: Homecoming hasn’t been announced yet, although updates are expected very soon.
