Tripwire Interactive, who already have several well-known and popular titles under their belt, such as Stone Madness, Man Eater, Road Redemption, or Rogue Waters, will bring us the return of one of their iconic sagas this March: nothing more and nothing less than the third installment of the beloved Killing Floor! Just like you’re reading, Killing Floor III was announced revealing its first trailer back in 2023, during that year’s Gamescom Opening Night. Since then and up to now, it hasn’t stopped generating hype in the gaming community.
Now, with just days left until its release, we are going to take a deeper look at what exactly Killing Floor III is and why it has the community so hyped. Killing Floor III is the latest entry in Tripwire Interactive’s legendary action-horror series. In this intense FPS, you will take on the role of a Nightfall specialist, teaming up with up to five squadmates to fight endless waves of Zeds, earn money, unlock abilities, and build your own arsenal.
What’s Killing Floor III About?
This new installment will take place 70 years after the events of Killing Floor 2. You will take on the role of a Nightfall specialist and have the chance to join forces with five other teammates. Together, you will navigate a war-ravaged dystopian future, diving into fast-paced FPS action and doing whatever it takes to survive relentless waves of Zeds, unlocking new and improved abilities and building the ultimate arsenal.

“The year is 2091. The Megacorporation Horzine has unleashed an army of bioengineered monstrosities called Zeds. Now the rebel group known as Nightfall stands between these infernal creations and the future of humanity.” That’s how the official trailer describes this new installment. Additionally, we know the game will feature deadlier enemies with improved AI and new attack patterns, making combat even more challenging. You’ll also have a fully customizable and extensive arsenal, ranging from firearms like rifles, shotguns, and flamethrowers to melee weapons like katanas, all of which can be equipped with multiple mods and gadgets.
The environments have been designed as interactive settings where you can activate various traps to strategically protect yourself from Zeds. On top of that, the M.E.A.T. system is back, adding more realistic dismemberment and persistent blood effects, further enhancing the brutality and gore. While the experience is mainly designed for six-player teams, you can always go solo and test your skills alone, the choice is yours!
