A proposal that caught my eye from the start, as I don’t recall ever seeing something quite like this before, especially with this level of detail. I’m talking about Liminal Point, the second project from HideWorks studio, which released the first-person horror game The Devil Is In The Details last September, earning mostly positive reviews on Steam. This time, Liminal Point presents us with a classic survival horror, at least in broad terms, but with a unique isometric perspective. While I have seen this perspective in other games before, I’ve never seen it in this genre, just saying.
According to its developers, Liminal Point is a survival horror game where we find ourselves trapped in Ashen Point, an island where Mira, our former bandmate, met a tragic end. This mysterious island, wrapped in fog and stalked by deadly creatures, will be the setting where we must survive while uncovering the mysteries surrounding our friend’s loss. We will have firearms, some melee weapons, a flashlight, and our wits, in an inventory that might remind us of the first Resident Evil games, just to mention a reference. At this point, you’ll want to see what we’re talking about, so check it out for yourself:
Welcome to Ashen Point Island
To tell you more about this, there’s nothing better than the game’s initial description on its Steam page: “Liminal Point is a psychological survival horror game that pays homage to the classics of the genre while delivering a modern, spine-chilling experience, blurring the line between reality and nightmares. Set on a desolate, fog-covered island shrouded in mystery, you will step into the role of Lyra, a once-rising rock star, as she uncovers the haunting truth behind the disappearance of her bandmate, Mira—and the sinister secrets the island holds.
As Lyra explores the island’s eerie, abandoned locations, she will encounter cryptic messages, twisted creatures that defy understanding, and a haunting past that refuses to stay buried. With every step, the world around her becomes more surreal, challenging her grip on reality and forcing her to confront the depths of her own psyche.
Can you unravel the truth, or will the island claim you as its next victim?”

Some Features Highlighted by Its Developers
- Classic Survival Horror: A modern take on the genre’s timeless formula: limited resources, tense encounters, and an atmosphere dripping with dread. Manage your limited inventory space carefully, and rely on the map to plan your next moves wisely as you navigate the fog-shrouded island, the mansion, the hospital or the sewers. Every decision matters when survival is at stake.
- Immersive Psychological Horror: Unravel a layered story of tragedy, memory, and the blurred line between reality and nightmare as you piece together Lyra’s past and Mira’s role in the events.
- Atmospheric Exploration: Navigate haunting locations, from crumbling mansions to fog-shrouded streets, where every corner hides a new mystery—or danger.
- Rich Visuals: A striking isometric perspective with detailed environments and dynamic lighting that brings the world of Liminal Point to life.
- Evocative Sound Design: A chilling original soundtrack and ambient audio immerse you in the tension of the island’s desolate hall, abandoned mansion and much more.
Prepare to uncover the secrets of Liminal Point. But remember: the truth comes at a cost.

As I said before, I really find it an innovative and fresh idea, and its visual style makes me want to play it right away, which means the wait until its release will feel like a small torment, at least for me XD. Still, we’ve waited a long time for titles that were worth it (not always), so, being optimistic, I choose to believe this will be one of those cases. Want to know what kind of wait we’re talking about? Keep reading…
Perhaps the only bitter note in this news is the fact that the game is set to release in 2026, meaning we’ll apparently have to wait quite a few months to enjoy it. BUT, just by watching its trailer, we can conclude that it’s already in a very advanced stage of development, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we get news of a possible date adjustment. You and I both know that crossing our fingers is free, right?

Either way, on its Steam page, which you can find at the end of this article, you’ll have access to all their social media to follow this project closely. We’ll obviously be doing that, but in the meantime, and since we have to wait quite a while, how about dropping by the comments and letting us know what you think about Liminal Point? You know, gamer, we’ll be reading you! 😉
