Woochi The Wayfarer: New From Nexon!
The super popular Nexon Games, along with developer studio LoreVault, have announced their next single-player fantasy and action adventure, Woochi the Wayfarer, which will be available for PS5, Xbox Series and PC. Although nothing has been mentioned about a release date or even a tentative window, we can already enjoy its first cinematic trailer, which is more than enough to hook us and keep us on the lookout for any news that may arise about it.
This game, developed in UE5, aims to immerse us completely in the history and culture of Korea, with its fascinating legends and myths, and a level of action worthy of any major martial arts and dark fantasy cinematic production. Obviously, not much information has been shared yet, making it very difficult to “guess” its exact genre, although what we have been able to see through its cinematic is that, while the title’s strong point is action, there will also be some moments we could call “creepy,” which as we all know are always welcome! Below you can see the first Teaser Trailer, shared from the official YouTube channel of Woochi the Wayfarer:
The Story of Jeon Woochi
This title is set during the Joseon dynasty, which took place between 1392 and 1897, and offers us a highly immersive and captivating experience that, while exploring the history and culture of Korea, is aimed at reaching the international market, attracting the attention of players all over the world, many of whom already know perfectly well Nexon’s expertise with this type of production, right?

Woochi the Wayfarer is an original story inspired by “Chŏn Uch’i chŏn (전우치전), The Story of Jeon Woochi”, a classic mid-18th-century novel that tells the adventures of Woochi (Uch’i), who according to the story was a trickster who became a hero after performing an altruistic act during a famine, and later received training in Taoist magic. Although there are two main versions of this story, in both we can see Woochi as a hero of the people, or a sorcerer “vigilante” who rebels against the system and supports those in need.
Nexon has already surprised us in the past with productions that strike a perfect balance between action, narrative, and setting, and everything points to Woochi the Wayfarer following that same line. For its part, LoreVault, although it doesn’t have an extensive catalog of releases, has shown meticulous attention to detail in its previous projects, which makes us think this collaboration could raise the standard for games inspired by Korean history and culture.

If we combine Nexon’s experience in developing immersive worlds with LoreVault’s creative vision and artistic approach, it’s hard not to get excited about the final result. Woochi the Wayfarer could become a benchmark not only for its gameplay, but also for the way it portrays and respects the legends that inspire it.
This production features the music of Jung Jae-il, the composer behind Parasite and Squid Game, which makes it clear that they aim for the atmosphere to be flawless. According to Nexon, LoreVault is receiving collaboration from literature and music experts who will help ensure this title is a faithful and representative depiction of the classic Korean story being told. They are also visiting the most important locations from the time period in which the novel takes place, to achieve a realistic and respectful 3D recreation.

So…
As we said before, we don’t have much information yet, whether about the game itself, its genre or features, or its possible release date, so both you and we will have no choice but to stay tuned for its development and any possible news that may emerge. And while we wait, how about you swing by the comments and tell us what you thought of this first look at Woochi the Wayfarer? You know gamer, we’ll be reading you! 😉
