Eyes Never Wake Will Break The Fourth Wall!

How much can the fear we feel while playing a horror game really affect us? Itā€™s quite normal to jump a little in our seat when a particular scene or sound catches us off guard, which, as we know, is designed precisely for that. Well, indie developer Allan Hedlung has recently decided to take things a step further, breaking the fourth wall to play with our senses in ways never seen before. His game, Eyes Never Wake, whose release date will be announced soon, presents a new kind of fear. Not only does it use our microphone to listen to us, a feature that has already been explored as a form of interaction, but in this case, the supernatural entity we face will not only react to the sounds we make but also SEE us through our webcam!!

Yes, gamer, you read that right. This grotesque being in the game will be able to see us through our camera and even react to our movements. For instance, there will be times when we can escape by hiding under our desk and stepping out of its field of vision! This game aims, according to its own developer, to break the fourth wall in more ways than one, allowing this stalking monster to see us through our camera and, of course, hear us through our microphone. Hard to believe? Go ahead, check out the Official Announcement Trailer for Eyes Never Wake, brought to you by IGN:

A New Interactive Horror Experience

Unlike most games, where you dive into a story with predefined characters, in this case, you, gamer, are the protagonist. From the very beginning, the game scans your face, which will be used multiple times. Some doors, for example, will only open through facial recognition. Expected, right? ā€¦In this different adventure, you will have to explore a dark and suffocating environment, where, as if that werenā€™t enough, you will constantly be stalked and chased by a massive monster that, when close, can hear you through your microphone and even see you through your webcam. This means that many times, you will have to stay completely still, trying not to make the slightest noise, or in some cases, even hide under your desk!

The game forces you to physically react in the real world to different situations and dangers, significantly increasing both immersion and gameplay experience. You will need to explore beyond the normal boundaries of an abandoned game, uncovering a vast, eerie area that you were never supposed to see. There, you will have to uncover the hidden truth behind this title and why ā€œheavenā€ is something that should never be spoken of.
