7 Mins Gameplay: inZOI, The Sims’ Next Rival
Over the years, many sagas have become epic, or simply cult titles, because they knew how to be innovative in their genre at the time and in subsequent years. Such is the case with The Sims, the mythical franchise from Electronic Arts, which has been an icon in simulators, and a complete innovation at the time regarding “real-life simulators,” as it was promoted. And having said that, few, if any, subsequent titles have managed to reach the necessary height to become competition, or dethrone that giant that firmly stepped into our lives and consoles.
Well, it seems that all that is finally about to change.
After the latest information that has come to light about the next installment of The Sims franchise and, above all, the fact that these leaks do not augur well for the saga’s future (pending Electronic Arts stepping forward to confirm or deny this information), it would be logical for some studio to want to overtake the company on the right with their own proposal. One that would improve the unique gameplay of The Sims. And, precisely, it seems that this is where inZOI comes in.
inZOI is a life simulator in the style of The Sims that is being developed by one of the Krafton studios, a company that owns other games like PUBG or Dark and Darker, so it is a video game that has a lot of support behind it. And, what really points to it being a success, is that it has gone viral since an early test of it was launched. Therefore, we tell you all the details that you need to know about it to better understand its proposal.
Release Date, and Where to Play inZOI
Let’s start from the beginning: inZOI will be available through the Steam platform, and you can see it personally through its page in the store, by clicking on THIS LINK. Therefore, obviously, the first platform on which it will be available will be PC, and although it is planned to have its versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, neither the official release date nor how much time will pass between its PC edition and its other versions have been made clear. What the development team has made clear is that its launch is expected at some point towards the end of this same year 2024.
Krafton has released some betas of the game in recent weeks, so, while its arrival is expected by the end of this year, we will surely be able to access the game earlier, on some occasion prior to its launch. Surely there will be more test events prior to that moment, which we will surely announce here, so you can try it firsthand.
inZOI Vs The Sims
The key difference that sets inZOI apart from The Sims is divided into two aspects that complement each other: graphically, it is much more realistic, as can be clearly seen in the video that we have shared here, and on the other hand, it has much deeper and more detailed gameplay and customization systems. It’s worth marking these differences, because the mechanics of both titles are quite similar, as is our objective in each game as players: to make our characters (in this case the ZOIs) happy and spirited by covering their physical, spiritual, leisure, and any other important aspect of life that you can think of.
Thinking about it coldly, the main factor that could make inZOI surpass The Sims is something inherent to the game from Electronic Arts: the complete absence of a new installment of the franchise for the coming years. For this reason, it is totally understandable that the community of players is anxious, waiting for something that equals or simply surpasses The Sims 4. If EA does not make its move soon, which is very unlikely, Krafton could simply take the lead without complications, and even more so taking into account the quality and depth shown so far.
So…
The cards are on the table, and there is not much time left until we can all freely and fully know about inZOI and how much it differs from or surpasses The Sims. But, until that moment comes, we can only assume, at least based on juicy firsthand information, like this tremendous video that we have just seen.
And what do you think? Please, feel free to stop by the comments to leave your opinion on this, because, you know gamers, we will be reading! 🙂
