The indie studios Madbricks and Amber Studio will bring us in the first quarter of 2026 a new 2.5D roguelike beat ‘em up loaded with irreverent humor and non-stop action: Mexican Ninja, a mix as crazy as its own name suggests. Here we will become THE one and only Mexican Ninja, and we will make our way through the streets of Nuevo Tokyo while hitting everything that crosses our path and remembering those old arcades that we were so passionate about… Are shu redy to be a pinche ninja!?
Mexican Ninja makes fun of itself, but it does it completely on purpose, seeking to make us laugh and smile while we play. Sometimes we can hear forced and badly pronounced English, but don’t worry gamer, it is completely on purpose XD, and to emphasize this, we will leave you at the end a comment from Carlos Rincones himself, the game’s developer. Being a Mexican Ninja is not Fácil, no no…
Mexican Ninja is a 2.5D roguelike beat ‘em up that mixes a high dose of humor with lots of action and situations that aim to make us laugh, while at the same time we reach enlightenment embarking on The Way of The Donkey… Okay this sounds just as funny in English as in Spanish XD… Although the title has no sexual content or anything graphic to alarm us, it is clear that it probably is not for all audiences, since it often presents strong adult language, both in English and Spanish, added to the humorous representation of topics such as organized crime, drugs and urban decay, not to mention the over-the-top violence that we obviously expect 😉
This story invites us to become THE one and only Mexican Ninja, and transports us to Nuevo Tokyo, an offspring of chaos that was born when Japan and Mexico clashed in fire, power and betrayal. In this murky situation a new feudal regime was forged between narcos and yakuzas, resulting in a new ruling class, Los Narkuzas… god… I’m holding back laughter while writing XD. But, for the people’s hope, on the outskirts of Nuevo Tokyo a group of rebels is conspiring against the five bosses of the Narkuza clan, and this is precisely where we come in!
In this side-scrolling adventure we will make our way with MADRAZOS through the streets of the city, with the sole objective of taking down the five leaders of the Narkuza clan. For this we will use the arts of The Way of The Donkey, a peculiar martial art that will mix the best (or the worst) of two cultures as different as they are interesting, earning the favor of the Mexican-Japanese spirits and using their powers throughout the different stages, and using, as its own developer describes it, “extremely ninja Mexican Jutsus”.
As for character progression, we will have to unlock skills by training with “el Mero Mero Sensei”, which, believe me, is extremely funny in Spanish XD… In this way we will be able to experiment with different builds and combos to achieve a combination that suits our own play style. Mexican Ninja proposes a friendly gameplay that, although it will feel simple at first, will reward those who master it completely.
