Just a few months ago, we brought to the page a game by Misterial Games, Stygian: Outer Gods, the latest installment in the Stygian universe from the same developers, which launched in Early Access very recently, on April 14th. Now, another project from Misterial Games has caught our attention: it’s Regeneration, a new third-person survival horror whose release will be announced soon, and one we definitely shouldn’t lose sight of!
Regeneration puts us in the shoes of a scientist who must explore abnormal environments, completely cut off from the outside world. In this context, he must face strange creatures while uncovering dark secrets and preventing a nightmare from spreading and consuming everything. The New 3rd Person Survival-Horror, Worthy of the Creators of Stygian
Misterial Games have already proven they’re more than capable of developing captivating, well-told horror stories, rooted in the cosmic horror of the universe created by H. P. Lovecraft. In this case, even though it’s not officially stated in the description on their Steam page, we could very well assume that it’s that same cosmic horror pulling the strings behind the plot of Regeneration. But of course, that’s for you to judge:
In this new story, we step into the shoes of a scientist from the Samsara Technologies expedition, who wakes up after days of unconsciousness in a devastated post-Soviet zone. Most of his team is dead, communication with the main base has been lost, and reality is descending into chaos. Confused and disoriented, he must unravel the dark secrets of that place, where forgotten experiments have unleashed a living nightmare.
The environment is now a breeding ground for a form of alien life: an entity with the power to mutate and regenerate, consuming everything in its path, including other lifeforms. As the line between salvation and destruction becomes blurred, the protagonist must rely on his scientific skills and improvised tools to survive, facing relentless threats while trying to stop the anomaly before it consumes everything and it’s too late.
Scanners, UV flashlights, ultrasound, DNA analyzers and more are among the tools the scientist can use to manipulate the environment and uncover hidden elements, gathering resources and crafting vital items to survive the terrible biological threat. And in the midst of this corrupted world, secrets of all kinds await, hidden among encrypted files and scattered notes throughout the place, which could help uncover the truth behind this unprecedented catastrophe, and might even be the very key to survival.

Now then, personally I think you should already have enough information to be keeping your eye on this title just from watching the trailer, but just in case, maybe its plot and overall pitch will help you decide. Regeneration doesn’t have an estimated release date yet, but it is announced to enter Early Access very soon, so you should head over to its Steam page right now, which you’ll obviously find below, and add it to your Wishlist without delay.
