Dream Cage: Horror & Gore Coming Feb 6th!

From time to time, I’m lucky enough to stumble upon some hidden gems among the platforms I’m subscribed to, Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, etc. In this case, I bring you a small hidden gem (and well hidden) that I found on Steam. Why do I say “well hidden”? Well, the game I’m bringing you today is called Dream Cage, and it’s developed and published by Hitori De Productions, a studio in Poland made up of a single person, who, in fact, already has a couple of titles also released on Steam.

In this case, Dream Cage is an immersive horror and gore adventure set in the experiences of people who have suffered or suffer from sleep paralysis, which, as we know, is a serious condition that should not be mocked in any way. In this case, the developer has done their homework, gathering a lot of information from real cases, intending to “faithfully” recreate what they felt and experienced, stating that this game seeks to express a “personal vision” of their suffering but is based on real experiences.

This stance practically justifies everything we see in the video below:

What Is Dream Cage?

As we can see, and expressed in our own words, it’s an adventure game that takes horror and gore to a new level, implementing innovative mechanics, some already seen, yes, but perhaps more effectively, achieving a level of immersion in the story that, personally, I have rarely seen. This game shares similarities with previous titles from the same developer, such as the use of the microphone, which in this case literally hears everything, making it seem like an active participant in the gameplay, something with a life of its own. To this, we add the photorealism of its textures, which we can always value positively when it is present in a game of this genre.

Robert, 50 years old, has struggled with memory issues and insomnia for many years. Addicted to medication, he sometimes cannot distinguish reality from hallucinations. But the real question is—are they truly hallucinations? Or is there something else lurking beneath the surface?

Find over 25 anomalies to uncover the truth and the root of Robert’s problems. Only by discovering them all will you unlock the true ending and reveal the full story. However, don’t be deceived by the apparent simplicity of the challenge. Robert’s mind hides many secrets, and these very mysteries will make your task all the more difficult.

Beneath these lines, the developer clarifies the following: This game may contain content not appropriate for all ages, or may not be appropriate for viewing at work: Frequent Violence or Gore, General Mature Content.

Endure five nights, each bringing a confrontation with a uniquely crafted entity, meticulously designed to challenge you. Remember, to survive each of the five nights and uncover the source of Robert’s nightmares, you must remain silent; do not scream or make any sound!

As we already mentioned, this game shares some features with previous titles from Hitori De Productions. Among them, the following stand out on Steam:

Perhaps if you were already familiar with the work of Hitori De Productions, this subjugating and suffocating aspect of the game won’t surprise you. Personally, I wasn’t familiar with the title or the developer, which made it a very pleasant surprise that I couldn’t resist bringing to MLG and sharing with all of you.
